Baked Buttered Corn

Spread the love

Corn.  Sweet satisfying treat I really enjoy.  You can find vendors selling cooked corn in every street in the Philippines.  There are two types of corn that I know of, the white corn, which is tasty when cooked as soup and the yellow corn or the Japanese Corn that is sweet and tasty.

Smothered it with butter and it is a sure hit.  Grill it and the smoky flavor just make it tastier.  Butter plus grilling?  Wow!  That’s my kind of buttered corn.

This is an easy recipe so you could enjoy buttered corn.  The  buttered corn is first boiled, then brushed with butter and Spanish paprika and baked until charing appears.  Perfect for a lazy afternoon break.

Ingredients

4 pieces                           Japanese Corn
6 cups                              Water
1 Tablespoon                 Rock Salt
4 Tablespoons               Melted Butter
Spanish Paprika
Salt

Procedure

Prehit oven to 240 degrees Celsius.

Combine corn, water and rock salt.  Boil for 20 minutes.

Pat dry the corn and brush with melted butter.  Season with Spanish Paprika and salt.  Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
