Filipino Style Beef Barbecue is an experiment dish. The dish is an inspiration of Mongolian barbecue but made the sauce or the marinade similar to our favorite Filipino barbecue.
To start of, this Filipino Style Beef Barbecue will be our packed lunch or baon for Monday. We usually prepare our packed lunch the night before and just reheat it the following morning. So, while reheating our packed lunch we get to take a bath and prepare for our morning routine before going to work.
We often have thinly sliced beef tenderloin at home. A week will not passed without having beef tenderloin for lunch. My mom always cooks it with mushroom sauce, tapa style or with stir fry with broccoli. Then, you will realized that it’s getting boring. So today I tasked myself to cook this meat.
Tips
I decided to sear the beef to give it a solid body. I’m worried that it might disintegrate when I directly simmer or pressure cooked it. Speaking of which, you can actually just simmer the beef with the barbecue sauce until tender. However, I pressure steam it to lessen the cooking time.
To pressure steam, you actually just need a pressure cooker and a rack. You simply place the meat in a metal bowl and cook it inside the pressure cooker. In this way, you will have an indirect heat, which is the steam, to cook your beef.
