Pork Ribs Recipe requires at least a couple of hours to cook in the oven. If you are feeling like a pit master, that would be several hours in the smoker. In short, it requires slow cooking method over low heat to tenderized the meat. I did some slow cooked ribs before and smelling its aroma for a couple of hours is agonizingly delicious.
However, I also did a quick method of cooking ribs. That would be simmering the ribs in a low heat for an hour. Though this method requires a tinier kind of ribs which is the riblettes. This has tender kind of meat compared to the meat from the pork ribs.
While browsing some videos in YouTube, I came across Slow Cooked Ribs… Cooked Fast with Science by SORTEDfood Channel I told to myself that I have to try this. And it worked.
Basically, you have a little amount of liquid in the bottom which will become steam during the cooking process. The compressed steam will be the one to cook the meat.
For this recipe, I used some basic ingredients for barbecue sauce. If the Americans have their Jack Daniel’s Barbecue Sauce why not try it with Cerveza Negra. Cerveza Negra is a dark beer which taste pretty good.
Tips
First of all, you have to marinate your pork ribs. The longer the better. You have to let the flavors of the marinade penetrate the meat. You want to taste those flavors as you sink your teeth on the meat and not just a cosmetic coating of sauce.
If you have time and you really like the heat of the oven go a head and cook it for several hours. This is just a hack. A quick and easy recipe you can cook for your family. If you have a smoker, I bet this will taste more flavorful.
