Filipino Style Beef Barbecue

Filipino Style Beef Barbecue uses thinly sliced tenderloin seared then pressure cooked in a Filipino style barbecue sauce. The sauce is sweet and savory as we Filipinos love these flavors. Then, it is quickly fry to caramelized the sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams Thinly Sliced Beef Tenderloin
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 6 Tablespoons Light Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Oyster Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Banana Ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Calamansi Juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 8 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Method
 

  1. Thoroughly clean the beef. Slice the beef into 1 by 3 inches long. Pat dry and set a side.
  2. Heat olive oil in a sauce pan and sear the beef. Set a side.
  3. Combine light soy sauce, oyster sauce, banana ketchup, sugar, peanut butter, water, calamansi juice, ground black pepper and garlic. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove the sauce form heat.
  4. Add the beef into the sauce and marinate for 30 minutes.
  5. Place a rack inside a pressure cooker and pour water until the rack is covered with water. Add the Italian seasoning and bring to a boil.
  6. Place the marinated beef with the sauce in a metal bowl. Pressure cook for 45 minutes. Remove the meat from the sauce.
  7. Heat olive oil in a sauce pan. Stir fry the beef until the sauce caramelized.
