Fish Tausi Recipe
Fish Tausi or Fish in Salted Black Beans is very easy to prepare. Simply fried and sauté the ingredients and that's it. An extra tofu will make this dish extra special.
- Oil for Frying
- 4 pieces Tofu Cubes cut into cubes
- 2 pieces Tilapia cut into 3 parts each
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 8 cloves Garlic chopped
- 1 bulb Onion chopped
- 3 pieces Ripe Tomatoes chopped
- 3 Tablespoons Tausi or Salted Black Beans rinse once
- 1/2 cup Water
- 3 Tablespoons Oyster Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Kimchi Seasoning
- 1 3/4 cups Water
- 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Water
- Ground Black Pepper
Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry the tofu until golden brown on eash sides. Set a side.
Fry the tilapia until golden brown and set a side.
Saute garlic, onion and tomatoes in olive oil. Add the tausi and water. Cover and let it simmer for 10 minutes over low heat. Gently press the tomatoes with the back of the wooden spoon to release its natural juice.
Add oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, kimchi seasoning and water. Simmer for another 10 minutes over low heat.
Premix the cornstarch and water. Slowly add a tablespoon at a time with continuous stirring until your desired consistency is achieved. Season with salt and pepper.
Add the fried tilapia and tofu. Toss and simmer for another 5 minutes.
