Fish with Soy and Ginger Sauce

Fish with Soy and Ginger Sauce is a quick recipe to impress your love ones. With or without an occassion this is a perfect dish to serve.

Ingredients
  

Fried Fish
  • 1 kg Whole Fish or Lapu - Lapu
  • Salt
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 cups Potato Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • Oil for Deep Frying
Ginger Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Grated Ginger
  • 3 Tablespoons Chopped Spring Onions
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sesame Oil
Soy Based Sauce
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Oyster Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • Salt
  • Ground Black Pepper

Method
 

Fried Fish
  1. Thoroughly clean the fish. Butterfly the fish by running through the knife from the tail of the fish up to 2/3 part of the fish. Do the same for the other side. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Combine and mix flour, salt and pepper. Drench the fish into the flour mixture. Make sure every inch of the fish is covered with flour. Rest for 15 minutes before deep frying until golden brown. Drain the fish with excess oil and set a side.
Ginger Sauce
  1. Combine grated ginger, chopped spring onions and salt in a bowl.
  2. Heat vegetable oil until smoking hot and pour into the ginger mixture. Add the sesame oil after 5 minutes and set a side.
Say Based Sauce
  1. Combine and mix together water, oyster sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar and ginger sauce. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Premix cornstarch and water. Add cornstarch mixture in to the soy based sauce and mix to thicken. Season with salt and pepper.
