Spicy Frozen Siomai Stew

This Spicy Frozen Siomai Stew is a Korean inspired dished. All you need are few ingredients and only took 30 minutes to cook. You can served it with fried rice and even noodles. Chopped some chili to make it extra hot.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Chopped Onion Leeks Stem
  • 3 cloves Garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Grated Ginger
  • 1 piece Bird's Eye Red Chili (Siling Labuyo)
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 piece Beef Bouillon Cube
  • 3 Tablespoons Gochujang paste
  • 2 Tablespoons Kimchi Seasoning
  • 10 - 15 pieces Frozen Siomai
  • Fried Tofu
  • Salt to Taste
  • Chopped Onion Leeks

Method
 

Fried Tofu Preparation
  1. Buy a good quality firm tofu. Sliced it to your desired sized and leave on a plate for 30 to 45 minutes to remove excess liquid. Deep fried until golden brown and set a side.
Spicy Frozen Siomai Stew
  1. Place vegetable oil, leeks, garlic, ginger and chili on a pan. Heat oil over low heat until the garlic is cooked.
  2. Add water, beef cube, gochujang and kimchi seasoning. Boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the frozen siomai and fried tofu. Simmer for another 15 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and garnish with chopped onion leeks.
  5. Serve with kimchi fried rice or egg noodles.
