Turmeric Fried Rice

I woke up at 3:00 in the morning to prepare our food before going to work.  Before cooking the rice, I usually check how much was left the night before to estimate how much will I cook.  Luckily, there were lots of left over rice from last night so I decided to cook Turmeric Fried Rice.

I love the taste of turmeric in this Turmeric Fried Rice dish.  The vibrant yellow color of Turmeric Fried Rice makes the rice looks more appetizing.  I usually eat this with chopped scrambled egg and caramelized onion.  What a great way to start the day!

Ingredients:
2 tsp                         Olive Oil
1 tsp                         Turmeric Powder
3 c                            Left Over Rice
Salt to taste
Chopped scrambled egg for garnish
Caramelized Onion for garnish

Procedure:
1.  Heat oil in a frying pan.
2.  Add the turmeric powder and stir.
3.  Add left over rice and mix until all the rice are coated with the turmeric-oil mixture.
4.  Add salt to taste.
5.  Garnished with chopped scrambled egg and caramelized onion.

HOW DOE IT TASTE?
This Turmeric Fried Rice has just right hint of turmeric, not too overwhelming, with a subtle sweetness from caramelized onion.

Love curry?  Substitute 1 tsp of Turmeric Powder with 1 tsp of Curry Powder.  I’ll bet it’s much more flavorful.
