Rolled Pizza Burger Pita

Spread the love
Pizza Roll

This afternoon, I felt sleepy but I don’t want to sleep because it will keep me awake until midnight and I don’t want that.  I’ll be the groggy sleepy on tomorrows work.  So, to keep me busy I decided to whip up something for this afternoon’s merienda.

I look in to our fridge and found some leftover pita bread, burger patties, tomatoes, chili, black olives and tomato sauce.  Oh, yes I still have my quick melt cheese so I thought of making pizza.

Realizing that I still have plenty of pita bread and making a pizza out of it will be a hassle, I decided to prepare it like pizza but instead of baking it flat, I rolled it up and bake.  I simply spread some Filipino-style tomato sauce, added some chopped tomatoes, olives and precooked burger patties and some slices of quick melt cheese and pop it in the oven for 7 minutes.  After 7 minutes, the oven toaster’s timer rang and voila, merienda!

Ingredients

10 pieces                          Burger Patties, store bought
5 pieces                            Pita Bread
10 Tablespoons                Tomato Sauce
5 pieces                            Tomatoes, deseeded and roughly chopped
5 Tablespoons                  Sliced Black Olives
Slices of Quick Melt Cheese
Half cup                            Sour Cream
Half                                   Green Chili, sliced

Procedure

Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius.

Precook Burger Patties and roughly chopped.  Divide in to five.

Spread 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce on your pita bread.  Add fifth of chopped burger patties, tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of back olives.  Add sliced cheese, add as many as you wish.  Roll it and wrap a strip of aluminum foil around to secure it.  Bake for 7 minutes.

Combine sour cream and chili and serve with baked Rolled Pizza Burger Pita.
