Easy Oven Grilled Tilapia: Best to have it with Mango Salad

Spread the love
Oven Grilled Tilapia

This easy Oven Grilled Tilapia recipe is the perfect dish to prepare after these long holidays. I know we’ve been eating meat, meat and meat all those days and like what they say we need to balance our diet, or so.

So after long days of Christmas vacation our family got tired of eating pork. We decided to have fish for weekends. The thing is, fishes and seafoods are so expensive these days. The cheapest of all is tilapia.

We often have fried tilapia, sinigang, sweet and sour, and steamed tilapia at home. Something we seldom eat is grilled tilapia. However, I don’t want to bother myself on grilling it over charcoal. That’s a total hassle for me. The best solution is using our very trusted oven.

The thing with grilling tilapia is it’s very easy to prepare. Cooking it in the oven only takes a few minutes. But, if you love grilling you can actually cook it over live charcoal.

Tips

To thoroughly clean the tilapia, remove its gills and innards. Then, wash it several times under running water. Rub a handful of salt inside the fish and on its skin. Pour vinegar and let it marinate for five minutes. Then, wash it again under running water. Pat it dry and that’s it.

I suggest not to remove its scales. It’s an SOP when grilling tilapia. The scales actually help the fish not to stick on the griller or on the baking pan. Slightly drizzle it with oil just to make sure it will not stick.

My dad prepared green mango salad before and it taste perfectly as a side dish to this oven grilled tilapia dish.
