Ginisang Giniling Recipe: Sautéed Ground Pork and Mixed Vegetables

Spread the love
Ginisang Giniling Recipe

This Ginisang Giniling Recipe is a quick and easy recipe to prepare specially if you are in hurry to cook for your kids’ packed lunch. The good thing about this recipe is it requires few ingredients and did I say it’s quick?

I remember my mom when she has hard time thinking what will she cook for our packed lunch. Then, her easiest recipe and probably her go – to recipe is this ginisang giniling recipe. She would make different variations but basically they are all the same.

Sometimes she would add tomatoes but that would probably my least favorite. This recipe is also perfect for breakfast meal. Just pair it with sunny side up egg and some fried plantain.

What I love about this recipe is you can eat it like a rice in box style. Just place a cup of rice in a bowl then top it up with this dish. No fork needed just a simple spoon and you’re good to go. If you’re like me, I like eating in a bowl and spoon on hand instead of a plate and spoon and fork. Plus, I get to wash less dishes right?

This dishes requires few ingredients. Basically, its just meat and your mixed vegetables. So the mixed vegetables is a mixture of corn, green peas and carrots. You just have to sauté the meat and vegetables and add some soy sauce to give it a nice brown color and add salt to taste.

Tips

For this ginisang giniling recipe I used regular ground pork. However, you can choose beef, lean ground pork or even chicken. Using leaner kind of meat requires additional olive oil to sauté the garlic and onion. The regular ground pork on the other hand will render its natural fat which you can use for sautéing.

Some recipes would simple sauté the garlic, onion and ground meat. On the other hand, what we always do at home is to simmer the ground pork in water until the fat from the pork oozes out. The fat is then use to sauté the garlic and onion. You’ll just have to add olive oil is you think the oil is not enough.

For this recipe, I used hard boiled chicken egg to go with the dish. However, if you want a more bite size eggs, yo can actually use hard boiled quail eggs.

If you have some leftover of this dish, simply cracked an egg and mix it. Then pan fry it and you have another dish, torta.
