Special Tocino Remake Recipe: Cook your Tocino to Something Special

Spread the love
Special Tocino Remake Recipe

Special Tocino Remake Recipe is simply recooking your beloved tocino brand to make it extra flavorful. In my case I want a nice sweet and Asian – style flavor. What’s more Asian than soy sauce and sesame oil, right?

Every mother will have to agree with me that the hardest part of being a mom is cooking your child’s baon. Well, that’s the case for our mom. Of all the baon dishes she has, store bought tocino is probably a staple in our fridge. It is her go – to baon when she can’t think of anything to cook.

Don’t get me wrong. Tocino is delicious but there are time that you want something new out of tocino. Well, this recipe was born out of that quest.

I want that tender meat of tocino but I want to make it more flavorful. The idea hit me. I simmered the tocino for 20 minutes and set it a side. I marinated the meat in a soy sauce concoction. Then, I caramelized an onion and sautéed some garlic and carrot. I tossed in the meat and cook it until the meat got redder or the sugar caramelized.

Tips

For this Special Tocino Remake Recipe, I high recommend Purefood’s tocino. It’s extremely tender and has the right amount of sweetness and savory. The best part about it is, it does not get hard as rock when cold. It remains tender for the whole day.

You can also use a sweet spicy version in combination with the regular tocino. This will give a balance sweetness, savory and spiciness to the dish. I decided to throw in some carrot cubes for extra health benefit. Well, it’s just a left over carrot that I don’t want to go to waste.
