Melted cheese! Oh so gooey ang yummy. Almost everybody loves cheese. The pizza advertisements will make you drool when they lift that slice of pizza and you see this gooey string of melted cheese right? Well, I do.
I love cheese in my pasta and pizza. More cheese means more fun. I know it’s high in cholesterol but who cares as long as it satisfy my tummy. I bet you agree with me right?
This afternoon, I felt hungry and realized I still have this half bag of wheat tasty bread in my bag and we have some quickmelt cheese in the fridge which I bought several weeks ago. Cheese in bread taste good but ofcourse I want to bring it into a new level. The result, simple cheese roll with Filipino-style tomato sauce as the dipping sauce.
Ingredients
12 pieces Sliced Tasty Bread
12 pieces Sliced Cheese of your choice
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
250mL Filipino-style Tomato Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
Salt and Pepper to Taste
2 slices Cheese
Procedure
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Flatten bread using a rolling pin. You can opt to remove the edges but in my case I don’t want it to go to waste. Place a slice of cheese and roll it. Slightly press it to ensure it will not open while you bake it.
In a sauce pan, combine butter and olive oil and heat until the butter melts. Brushed the melted butter and olive oil mixture onto the bread.
Place the brushed rill onto a oiled baking pan and bake for 10 minutes. Serve with the tomato sauce dipping sauce.
For the dipping sauce, combine tomato sauce, Italian Seasoning, salt and pepper into the sauce pan. Boil and simmer for 10 minutes with continuous mixing. Add cheese and mix again until the cheese melts. Serve.
